"At 29,029 feet above sea level, Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. But despite Everest's massive peak, Chimborazo in the Ecuadorean Andes is the farthest point from the center of the earth.

No slouch in the size department, Chimborazo is actually an inactive volcano that stands at 20,565 feet. It makes up for the 9,000 foot difference between itself and Everest with the equatorial bulge. Only one degree south of the equator, the earth is thicker nearer the equator, and makes up the extra difference for Chimborazo. When all is said and done, Chimborazo measures 7,113 feet farther from the center of the earth than Mount Everest and is a whopping 3,967 miles from earth's center."

"Pando (Latin for "I spread", also known as The Trembling Giant) is a clonal colony of a single male Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) located in the U.S. state of Utah, all determined to be part of a single living organism by identical genetic markers and one massive underground root system. The plant is estimated to weigh collectively 6,000,000 kg (6,600 short tons), making it the heaviest known organism.[4] The root system of Pando is estimated to be among the oldest known living organisms in existence at 80,000 years of age.

Pando is located in the Fishlake National Forest, near Fish Lake on the Fish Lake Plateau located at the western edge of the Colorado Plateau in South-central Utah."

"The world's smallest known vertebrate is a frog the size of a housefly, a new study says.

At an average of 7.7 millimeters long, the newfound Paedophryne amauensis is a hair smaller than the previous record holder, the Southeast Asian fish species Paedocypris progenetica, whose females measure about 7.9 millimeters."

The 2ft teenager is already a mini celebrity in her hometown of Nagpur, India, but is now set for a huge record when she is officially declared the world's smallest woman.
And despite her miniature stature, 61.95cm-tall Jyoti hopes to celebrate being crowned the world's shortest woman by launching a Bollywood movie career."

"The largest (to date) propeller is built by the German company Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH:

"Weighing in at 131 tons, the - to date – largest ship propeller made in Waren on the Müritz River drives the Emma Maersk, the world’s largest container ship, with a load capacity of up to 14,770 twenty-foot containers, a length of 397 m, a width exceeding 56 m and a height of 68 m... "While this is hardly something one would want to hold the record for, for a so many reasons, it would seem that Lina is unlikely to lose this record any time soon (or one would at least hope so!) So, for now, the current record for youngest human being to give birth to another is 5 years, 7 months, and 17 days, which means she was probably impregnated a month or two before her fifth birthday. A giant rhubarb leaf grown in Abbotsbury, Dorset could be a record breaker after its diameter stretched to a whopping 3.4m (11ft) is big enough for curator Steve Griffiths to hide under.

Some speculate that the unusually wet summer in the UK helped the plant to grow larger than it usually would.

"It's 369 feet high. That's about twice the size of the Statue of Liberty (minus the foundation). ...The people who discovered it have never revealed its true location, which is somewhere in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. And though it has a nickname, "Stratosphere Giant," it is no longer the giant. It's been trumped.

The tallest of the tall is 379 feet 4 inches, 10 feet taller than the Giant. It's now called "Hyperion.""
