"This is one of the pieces from an ongoing psychedelic/ambient video project "Sibyl".
"Sibyl" was inspired in part by the spirit of 1970's progressive rock concept albums, ancient Greek mythology, and shamanic ritual. It will consist of several short videos. Each piece will be autonomous, albeit part of a greater whole. The final number of videos and the total length is still to be determined. Each video in the series will be released as it is completed.
All pieces will be directed and produced by Yoshi Sodeoka . Music will be composed in collaboration between Yoshi Sodeoka and Daron Murphy."
"Leif Podhajsky is an artist and creative director who makes astounding album covers for numerous labels including Warp Records, Sub Pop, Sony, Warner, Atlantic and others. An artist statement via his website says “His work explores themes of connectedness, the relevance of nature and the psychedelic or altered experience. I turn around - it's past
You don't get time to hang a sign on me Love me while you can
Before I'm a dead old man A lifetime is so short
A new one can't be bought
But what you've got means such a lot to me Make love all day long
Make love singing songs There's people standing round
Who screw you in the ground
They'll fill you in with all their sins you'll see I'll make love to you
If you want me to

"Children's television was really psychedelic when I was a kid. It's probably why so many of artists in my generation are obsessed with bright colors and altered states. This is part of a series of explorations using old videos from late-70's, early-80's TV and extracting the movement and color while stripping away content. These are created using video processing systems that analyze the motion of each pixel and manipulatethat information before applying it to the incoming images. The distortions and color combinations are a result of an accumulation of frames and pixel manipulations over time. This will be part of a longer video that I'm working on for a video/print project."
