Rainbow Family Village ~ 彩虹眷村

by Steven Barringer

A beautiful and colorful small village in Taichung, Taiwan where almost everything in site is painted joyful colors. A sense of wonder and peacefulness is felt as you wander the tiny streets of this modest section of the big city. Bright lively colors call out to your inner child as you find what appears to be an endless seam of creative whimsical imagery. A must-see for any one in Taichung.

From my understanding this tiny village in Taichung, Taiwan was painted by Mr. Huang Yongfu, an original native of Hong Kong, now 90 years old. There are stories/rumors that he painted the village to draw attention to it’s new beauty, thus keeping the old village from being torn down for newer buildings. Another possibility was that he wanted to create something beautiful in his rather drab little retired military village.

Fantasy Art of Tim White

Critical Threshold

"Cover painting for the book 'Critical Threshold' by Brian M. Stableford. A girl runs through an alien forest overcome by fear. Little knowing that this effect is caused by the strange scent the many butterflies emit that abound in the forest. She will come to no harm as nothing dangerous dwells in the forest and the effects wear off with time."

The Tale Of Mr. Rêvus

"As dreams come true, it is those who are able to see beyond their own desires that make a change, although their destiny might be to let a wish forever be unfulfilled."

"The animated shortfilm “The Tale Of Mr. Rêvus” is my graduation (Diploma) film, produced at the Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule – University Of Applied Sciences, Nuremberg.

The challenge of this movie was to reproduce the entire production process of an animated 3D shortfilm by myself including story development, concept design, modelling, rigging, directing, editing, animating, rendering and finally compositing.

The amazing score orchestrated by Simon Scharf student at the Hochschule für Musik Nuremberg (HfM) has been conducted by Guido Johannes Rumstadt, played by the orchestra of the HfM and recorded by Toni Hinterholzinger."  Marius Herzog

Dreams and Travels – The Art of Masha Falkov

"I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, but my family immigrated to New York when I was just a baby. Nonetheless, I speak fluent Russian and inherited all the sense of wonder at living in a country with so much abundance and so many possibilities. Growing up in New York was a never-ending sea of color and sound. The sheer diversity of the city’s inhabitants, architecture, and technology was the kind of sensory overload that provided constant inspiration for me."

In The Woods on Vimeo

"This is adorable and lovely and cute and – well, you’ll see! It is the new track by the band DandyLion and Murdock who are based in Glastonbury, in the lovely county of Somerset in England. It is called In The Woods and is all about finding friendship in a rather unexpected place.

This charming piece of animation was created by Ross Vernon McDonald, who was also responsible for the making of the teddy bear puppets that you can see in the video. It was shot in Loxley Woods." by Kuriositas
