"Leif Podhajsky  is an artist and creative director who makes astounding album covers for numerous labels including Warp Records, Sub Pop, Sony, Warner, Atlantic and others. An artist statement via his website says “His work explores themes of connectedness, the relevance of nature and the psychedelic or altered experience. By utilizing these subjects he attempts to coerce the viewer into a realignment with themselves and their surroundings.”"

"Jefferson, a Deist compiled a Bible without miracles that ended with Jesus' burial instead of resurrection. by Louis Sahagun

Making good on a promise to a friend to summarize his views on Christianity, Thomas Jefferson set to work with scissors, snipping out every miracle and inconsistency he could find in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Then, relying on a cut-and-paste technique, he reassembled the excerpts into what he believed was a more coherent narrative and pasted them onto blank paper -- alongside translations in French, Greek and Latin."

"A University of Wisconsin-Madison ophthalmologist says both Handel and Bach underwent eye surgery at the hands of an "oculist" called the Chevalier John Taylor.

"Taylor was the poster child for 18th century quackery," says Daniel Albert, MD, MS, the author of "Men of Vision," a history of ophthalmology. The book has a chapter on Taylor's colorful, if gruesome, career...

Albert describes him as "the most infamous of all ophthalmic quacks." His arrival into town would be heralded by placards and handbills, and his coach was decorated with paintings of eyeballs and the motto: "Qui dat videre dat viver" (He who gives sight, gives life.)"

"For 2.2 miles in the Huanglong Valley, naturally formed and terraced hot spring pools gently flow between rugged mountains and forests, filled with awe-inspiring creatures known only to China. Dubbed the "Fairy Land on Earth," Huanglong truly is so stunning it is hard to believe.

Over millennia of geological change, mineral deposits have built up and naturally created the travertine pools of Huanglong. Formed out of limestone, the hot springs rose to varied levels, making the light blue water cascade over waterfalls into other series of pools and even hollowing out caves along the valley. With rugged, snow-capped peaks on both sides, the slicing river of hot springs looks almost like a dragon, earning the title of Yellow Dragon."

    The magical rug literally animates!!

When the rug is viewed through the specially designed glass coffee table, an animation of carp appears through a moire effect providing a surprise element of natural liveliness to the interior. The graphic apparition, replacing the traditional fish tank, is also a nod to the decreasing abundance of our most precious natural resource – water. Mythologically, the carp symbolises bravery and fortune. Linguistically, the “carp” becomes a humorous extraction of the “carpet” that reveals this intriguing little conversational piece on the floor.

“Mythologically, the carp symbolizes bravery and fortune.”

"A view of Indian Peaks with the eclipsing moon setting overhead. Taken during the lunar eclipse on the morning of December 10, 2011. The Indian Peaks are a series of peaks on the continental divide behind Boulder, CO. The moon set behind the continental divide right before totality, but it was still an awesome sight."
