The photo above showing a simmering Mt. Semeru was snapped from Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park in East Java, Indonesia. This view was taken from the rim of the Mt. Bromo caldera looking West towards Mt. Semeru. This massive stratovolcano has erupted 55 times since 1818 and spews out ash and steam on a regular basis. Photo taken on June 3, 2010.
